Derrick died Dec.14, 1979, of cancer. He married Sue Choynacki in 1971, after 3 years in the Army. In '75 they had a daughter, Kelly Jo. He worked for Baxter and Woodman for 8 years, until he lost his fight with cancer. They crammed alot of fun into those 8 years.

Susan Smith (Knight)
Derrick was married to Sue Choynacki and if memory serves me correctly Sue was expecting their first child when Derrick found out he had cancer. I know that he died at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, Il. It took him quickly after he was diagnosed. How sad. Derrick was a great guy.Susan Smith Knight

Hello,
I am Derrick Howick's only child- Kelly Severing. I was only 4 years old when my Dad passed away. He was married to Susan Choynacki/Howick, and they lived in Crystal Lake. My Mom now has Multiple Sclerosis, and was diagnosed in 1997. She remarried in 1993 and is now Susan Glowacki.
I would love to read about some stories regarding my Dad. Since I was so young, there is little I actually remember. My Dad's brother's Gary Howick and Kevin Howick are living in New York and Conneticut.
